AMA and Fly Robotics to Offer Public Safety UAS Training Courses Across the Country in 2017
Muncie, IN (PRWEB) December 12, 2016 -- The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Education department, in conjunction with Fly Robotics, is proud to announce the release of our UAS 4 Public Safety course. This hands-on training course will provide public safety officers the knowledge needed to use UAS technology safely and effectively in their daily jobs.
“The AMA is very pleased to partner with Fly Robotics on this effort in public safety. This will be a direct benefit of the new technology to all citizens.” — AMA Director of Education, Bill Pritchett
Live Flight Training includes basic to intermediate flight skills training. Students are put through a series of flight exercises that test hand-eye coordination, as well as orientation management. Students then apply the skills they learn through a series of Live Flight Public Safety Scenarios. Each operator runs through a search-and-rescue mission, active shooter recon, suspicious package inspection, and structure fire site management training.
“Our first responder and public safety officials perform tremendous duties on a daily basis. Anytime we can hand them a new tool set to assist them in doing their jobs more effectively and efficiently, it’s a win for all of us. Highly accurate information instantaneously available to a degree we’ve never experienced before means resources used more effectively, safer streets, and most importantly, more lives saved.”—Fly Robotics Director of Training, Tim Hurley
