Amalie Motor Oil and The Tampa Bay Storm Use Gator Bait
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- The Tampa Bay Storm and their partner, Amalie Motor Oil, engaged fans with an unusual social media challenge during the Amalie Presenting Night Game June 27. Register to win an authentic Tampa Bay Storm Helmet, autographed by the team. There was one caveat. Registration meant holding a live alligator while being photographed – and having it posted to the fan’s Facebook page! Will E. Byte, the Amalie Motor Oil mascot was used as bait for the contest. Then again on July 6, fans had another opportunity to register for the helmet, sans the gator.
“It was a wonderful opportunity for Amalie to offer Storm fans a unique experience,” said Denny Madden, Amalie Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. “It’s not every day you go to a football game and get to hold a live gator!”
Ryan Hagler, the grand prize winner, will be presented with the signed helmet by Storm President Derrick Brooks, during a special ceremony Tuesday, July 30, 11:00 a.m. at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. He’ll watch practice and interact with some of the Storm players. Unfortunately Will E. Byte is unable to attend due to a previous engagement. Ryan, as well as the Storm players are just fine with that.
Derrick Brooks, Tampa Bay Storm President and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star linebacker, commented on the contest, “We welcome Amalie’s out-of-the-box thinking in terms of fan interaction and promotions. Not only did they have a terrific social media contest, but a variety of innovative pre-game activity on the plaza for fans to enjoy. Amalie is definitely better than it has to be!”
Amalie Motor Oil is a vibrant member of the Tampa Port community, and extends its reach deep into the community. They’ve been a proud sponsor of the Tampa Bay Storm since 2011 and own the naming rights to the field – Amalie Motor Oil Field.
