Amazing Race 23 Winners Jason Case & Amy Diaz Tell All In Exclusive Interview On Maria Menounos' AfterBuzz TV Network
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 15, 2013 -- CBS's Amazing Race season 23 winners Jason Case and Amy Diaz appeared on Maria Menounos' online network AfterBuzz TV to describe their experience on the reality game show. AfterBuzz hosts James Wallington, Justin Nichols, and Jessica Carroll interviewed the couple about their alliance on the show, the challenges that they had to overcome and the asked the couple about their future together.
DIAZ AND CASE ON THEIR ALLIANCE WITH NICOLE AND TRAVIS:
Diaz says, “Everyone called it an alliance, but for us, me especially, it is a friendship and that’s what it was. It became a friendship. Nicole and I called each other sisters and we had Thanksgiving dinner together this year. It was more than just an alliance for the game. When people question why did I help her, it really was because of that... The reason we became so close is because they were mini mentors to us on how to be [in] a strong relationship, a strong couple. That is why we were really attracted to them, so when we watched [them on TV] and people were like, he is this and that to her, we never saw that because they were showing us and teaching us how to communicate as a couple.”
Case dismisses Travis's reaction towards him and Diaz late in the game by saying, “You’re racing for hundred dollars, and you’re optic, you’re going to get frustrated. Your sitting there, you are helpless. That is his wife, and you're helpless, and you're watching. She has been a strong woman her entire life so for him to see her struggle, was a surprise. Maybe that reaction that he had, it was just his initial reaction because of the environment they were in.”
CASE ON THE HARDEST PART OF AMAZING RACE:
Case says, “Amy and I had only been together for a year. So we didn’t know each other in that competitive environment. I didn’t know how Amy was going to react to me, and how I was really going to react to her. It wasn’t like we were cousins, or we had been married for 12 years or we had been best friends for our whole lives... We had to overcome and really get to know one another’s competitive nature and learn how to encourage one another... It took a lot of patience and I think at the beginning it held us back a little bit.”
CASE ON THE FEELING OF VICTORY:
Case says, “It was a victory for us because we had come in second place so many times [during the other legs]. We kept all the statistics so we knew how fast we completed all the challenges, we knew how fast we did the legs, and we knew we were the strongest team, statistically speaking. We were just so frustrated because we lost to express passes, and took a wrong turn because I told Amy to go left and she wanted to go right.”
DIAZ HINTS AT THE COUPLE'S FUTURE:
Diaz says, “This has been such an amazing experience. And for us we want it to be one chapter of our lives... Some people thought he would propose at the party, or the finale... I am actually happy that he didn’t... It was already such a great high that I would rather have two great highs than like one.”
