Amelia Island Brewing Company Announces a Gold Medal Win for "SM'KN M'RTHA" Porter
Fernandina Beach, FL (PRWEB) April 28, 2018 -- Amelia Island Brewing Company (AIBC) announced today its award winning beer, SM’KN M’RTHA, is back on tap at Amelia Tavern in Fernandina Beach. The 7.2% ABV porter was originally introduced on November 24, 2017 then spiked in popularity after it was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal at the Best in Florida Beer Professional Championship on March 4. SM’KN M’RTHA was submitted by Brew Maestro, Jay Mack, for its competition debut in the Smoked Porter category at the annual competition held at Water Works Park in Tampa.
“SM’KN M’RTHA is a classic, robust porter with a smoky twist that comes from the cherrywood smoked malt,” said Mack. “We were excited to receive the Gold Medal in one of the 38 contesting medal groups.”
Mack has been brewing beer for 14 years and currently oversees all production and operations at AIBC, the only craft brewery operation in Fernandina Beach. AIBC has created nine unique craft beers for Amelia Tavern, located on Centre Street. In addition to SM’KN M’RTHA, the five-barrel brewing operation provides: Monroe Blonde, Billie Wheat, Canary Cross (Amber) Ale, Ravenwood IPA, Blue House Mexican Lager, Verona Double Chocolate Stout, Delores Dry Irish Stout and AT Tavern IPA.
AIBC holds several promotional and social events throughout the year including Cask Nights, where one of the core beers is paired with a complimentary flavor and naturally carbonated within the cask. Cask Nights take place one select Thursday of each month.
