American Brain Tumor Association’s Running Program Recruiting for 2015 Chicago Marathon
Chicago, Ill. (PRWEB) March 16, 2015 -- As an official Bank of America Chicago Marathon Charity Partner, the American Brain Tumor Association’s (ABTA) endurance program, Team Breakthrough, is recruiting for a limited number of guaranteed entries available for the 2015 Chicago Marathon.
Running enthusiasts are invited to register today to secure a guaranteed spot with the ABTA’s Team Breakthrough. In addition to their race entry, ABTA Team Breakthrough runners receive a comprehensive training plan with Fitness Formula Clubs (FFC), a personal Team Breakthrough fundraising web page, personal fundraising support, fundraising rewards and a pre- & post-race party on race day just steps away from the start/finish line.
“Our Team Breakthrough participants challenge themselves to go the distance while challenging others to help raise funds to support the mission of the American Brain Tumor Association,” said Meg Schneider, chief advancement officer, American Brain Tumor Association. “We are fortunate every year to partner with a dedicated group of individuals who recognize how their fundraising efforts help the ABTA fund critical brain tumor research and provide education, information and support for patients and caregivers who are living with the fear, and uncertainty a brain tumor diagnosis brings.”
Last year, the ABTA’s Team Breakthrough Chicago Marathon runners from 28 different states (and 3 countries) raised more than $165,000. The money raised supports the ABTA’s mission to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors with the goals of improving, extending and, ultimately, saving the lives of those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis.
Team Breakthrough is the national endurance program for the ABTA, and includes events such as the Chicago Half Marathon, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and a Choose Your Own option.
