American Career College Announces Expansion Through the Acquisition of St. Francis Career College
Irvine, CA (PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- American Career College (ACC), a leader in the health care education field, announced further expansion with its fifth campus in Southern California. ACC is expanding through the acquisition of St. Francis Career College, which will now be known as American Career College at St. Francis.
St. Francis Career Co American Career College Announces Expansion through the acquisition of St. Francis Career Collegellege (SFCC) was previously owned and managed by St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC), a member of Daughters of Charity Health System. In keeping with its commitment of service to the community, St. Francis Medical Center established a High School Vocational Nurse (VN) Training Program in April 1988. The initial class was established in collaboration with the Lynwood Unified School District.
In 1993, the success of this program led to its expansion into the St. Francis Medical Center Vocational Nurse Program, in collaboration with the Compton Unified School District ROP, the City of Los Angeles Private Industry Council under the Job Training Partnership Act, and the James Irvine Foundation.
For more than 25 years, St. Francis Career College has been a center of seeking, learning, and teaching in the tradition of the Daughters of Charity. American Career College at St. Francis is located in one of the most densely populated communities in Southern California. Students who have attended the school generally live within a 5-mile radius between the 110 Freeway on the West, the 605 Freeway on the East, the 91 Freeway on the South and Alameda Industrial Corridor on the North. Its primary service area includes the communities of Lynwood, South Gate, Downey, Huntington Park, Bell, Cudahy, Bell Gardens, Maywood, Compton and Southeast Los Angeles. The college occupies space in a professional building just across the street from St. Francis Medical Center. Classrooms and laboratories equipped with patient beds, sphygmomanometers, mannequin models, a SimMan hi-fidelity mannequin, medication carts and medications, crash carts, and equipment and supplies used in clinical skills practice are located at the campus.
