American Consumer Credit Counseling Provides State House Interns with Financial Education
Boston, MA (PRWEB) August 06, 2015 -- American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC) partnered with credit unions across the state to teach students about budgeting and financial decision making at the second annual Scholars & Cents: A Reality Fair for State House Legislative. The day-long fair was attended by roughly 70 interns on July 14th at the Massachusetts State House.
Through lectures, teamwork stations, and discussions, interns had the unique opportunity to engage in presentations based on identity theft, budgeting and credit and money management.
“We were thrilled to have the opportunity to attend the reality fair for the second year,” said Matthew Paradise, Chairman of Boston Reality Fair Committee and Education Team. “In a world where student debt is inevitable, events such as these are essential so that students can learn the importance of budgeting and financial decision making.”
Scholars & Cents is a reality fair designed for State House Legislative Interns with the objective of teaching important money management skills for the real world.
The second annual fair was a collaborative effort between national nonprofit ACCC, the Massachusetts Treasurer’s Office, the Massachusetts Credit Union League, Mass Bay Credit Union, Metro Credit Union and City of Boston Credit Union.
