American Forest Foundation Earns Third Consecutive 4-Star Charity Rating
Washington (PRWEB) February 19, 2014 -- For the third consecutive year, Charity Navigator has awarded the American Forest Foundation (AFF) its highest possible rating of four stars. The coveted 4-star rating recognizes AFF’s sound fiscal management and its commitment to accountability and transparency. As America’s leading independent evaluator of nonprofits, Charity Navigator is a trusted source for donors as they make decisions about charitable giving.

AFF works on-the-ground on behalf of America’s nearly 22 million forest owners who own 282 million acres of forestland. More acres are owned by families or individuals than are owned by the federal government or the forest products industry. Charity Navigator’s top rating of AFF will help the organization continue to protect all the benefits that come from forests including clean water, clean air, wildlife habitat, scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, wood products, and good paying rural jobs.
“Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices... and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way,” said Ken Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charity Navigator. “Only 11 percent of the charities we rate have received at least three consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that American Forest Foundation outperforms most other charities in America.” The rating, Berger noted, shows the public that AFF “is worthy of their trust.”
