The tour has been common for American Idol alums but in recent years, the tour has gone to several of the larger venues in the country, but this year, decided to downscale and play smaller theatres and performing-art halls. Among the stops the tour will make include the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.; Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Texas; Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minn.; Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta, Ga.; and the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Fla.
One thing that organizers of the tour are doing to help promote sales is donate a dollar from every ticket sale to the Melanoma Research Alliance. This will begin when tickets go on sale to the general public throughout the tour. Fans of the show will be excited to see many of the most popular performers from the current season of the show including Johnson. Johnson made waves recently because of comments he had regarding social media, but fans will want to hear him perform many of the songs he did on the show including “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” “Sting Me,” “Family Tree,” and “Faithfully.”
Other popular performers that are still currently on the show and will be touring include Irene, Meuse and Preston. Among the songs the fans loved these artists include “Human,” “Summertime Sadness,” “Somebody to Love,” “Gunpowder & Lead,” and “Call Me,” from Meuse, “In Love Rock ‘m’ Roll,” “Creep,” “Barracuda,” and “Valerie,” from Irene, and “Sweater Weather,” “Say Something,” “Animal,” “Always on My Mind,” “The A Team,” and “Every Breath You Take,” from Preston.
American Idol premiered in 2002 and have been one of the most popular shows ever since. The tour has been held following the conclusion of each season since the show premiered and has taken many of the biggest stars made by the show around the country in front of the fans that voted for them each week.
