American Legion State Tournament Fields Are Set as Minnesota’s Best Teams Get Set to Crown a Champion
Edina, MN (PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- Nick Kennedy, founder of http://www.legionbaseballhub.com announced today that the fields and brackets for both the Division 1 and Division 2 Minnesota American Legion Baseball Tournaments can be found online at the site. The newly launched site provides legion baseball fans a one-stop-shop to check scores, analyze stats and meet the teams for each tournament. In its first week of existence, the site had more than 100,000 visitors.
“We knew there was high interest in legion baseball, but only in our wildest dreams did we expect this type of response,” said Kennedy. “These metrics validate our commitment to elevating the scope of legion baseball coverage in this state.”
The site will be busy this weekend as well when it will cover both American Legion State Tournaments. The Division 1 Tournament takes place in the host community of Chanhassen. Games for that tourney will also be played in Chaska, Eden Prairie and Edina. The Division 2 Tournament will be conducted in Morris, MN.
Teams to qualify for the 16-team Division 1 Tournament that begins play on Friday, July 31 include: New Ulm Gold, Woodbury Blue, North St. Paul, Tri-City Red, Princeton, Hutchinson, Austin, Eden Prairie, Wayzata, Prior Lake, Champlin Park, Grand Rapids, Maple Grove, Sartell, Alexandria and host team Chanhassen. Defending champion St. Cloud did not qualify for this year’s tournament, so a new champion will emerge.
Teams to qualify for the eight-team Division 2 Tournament that begins play on Friday, July 31 include: LaCrescent, Wells, Jordan, Foley, BOLD, Moose Lake, DGF and Giant Valley.
Legion Baseball Hub will provide continuing coverage for the Division 1 Tournament and updated final scores from the Division 2 Tournament. Both tournaments start with opening ceremonies on Thursday, July 30. Play starts on Friday, July 31 and runs until Monday, August 3.
Legion Baseball Hub’s coverage doesn’t end with the Minnesota State Tournaments. The Hub will follow the two Minnesota teams, the Division 1 champion and runner-up, who will advance to the American Legion Central Plains Regional Tournament in Bismarck, ND, August 5-9.
