American Pavilion Installs Clear Span Tent Amidst Subzero Temperatures
DANVILLE, Ill. (PRWEB) February 17, 2015 -- American Pavilion’s dedicated winter crew successfully installed a 20,000-square-foot Losberger clear span tent for a Wisconsin municipality despite frigid winds and subzero temperatures. The joint efforts of American Pavilion’s crew and municipality employees allowed the tent to be erected in a fast, efficient, and safe manner.
Since its inception in 1902, it has always been American Pavilion’s policy to travel to any city to build tent structures. This held true when the company’s vice president of national sales received a phone call from a municipality in Wisconsin looking for a heavy-duty, cold-resistant construction tent to shelter the building site for a new concrete pad. Freezing temperatures pose a challenge when installing tents, threatening both the safety of the workers and the integrity of the structure. To meet this challenge, American Pavilion sent a team specifically trained for harsh weather conditions to the job site, where they underwent two full days of safety training to prepare for the installation.
The American Pavilion crew and the local contractors worked together to install the Losberger clear span tent in only three days. Despite the cold and snow, the installation did not require any special footings or knee walls.
“Installing such a large tent without additional aids or weather delays decreases the cost of the client’s overall project,” said Tom Wodetzki, co-owner of American Pavilion. “Helping our clients reduce costs and improve the quality of their event or job sites is at the heart of what we do, so we’re really proud of what our team accomplished in Wisconsin.”
Losberger brand clear span tents are engineered to withstand hurricane-strength winds and require minimal maintenance, plus they are large enough for an entire construction crew to work through the winter months. The clear span tent erected in Wisconsin is also temperature-controlled and supplied with temporary power from American Pavilion, allowing the construction crew to immediately begin site excavation.
