American Quilter’s Society Presents QuiltWeek® – Paducah, Kentucky 2015
(PRWEB) March 27, 2015 -- American Quilter’s Society, the largest quilting membership organization in the world, is pleased to announce the return of its famous QuiltWeek event in Paducah, Kentucky. The Paducah QuiltWeek event will run from April 22 to 25 at the Paducah McCracken County Convention & Expo Center, 415 Park Avenue, Paducah, KY 42001.
More than 30,000 in attendance are expected to converge on the Paducah area to enjoy four days of the best in international quilt and textile artistry. Over 700 quilts will be on display with $125,000 in prizes to be awarded for quilting excellence at the event. In addition, AQS QuiltWeek will be hosting a series of workshops with some of the top talent in the quilt industry and an extensive Merchant Mall comprised of both local and national vendors.
Included in AQS QuiltWeek's celebrated exhibits are the SAQA™ Wide Horizons IV exhibit, the Red, White & Quilted exhibit, selections from The WICKED™ Cherrywood Challenge, and an exhibit from The National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky. Evening events feature world-renowned celebrities presenting their unique spin on fabric, quilting, and life, such as A Night with Edyta Sitar and Ricky Tims: Live at the Carson. The AQS Awards Presentation with David Taylor will be held Tuesday, April 21, at the Carson Center, 100 Kentucky Avenue, Paducah, KY.
Paducah, Kentucky, named by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a UNESCO Creative City, rolls out the red carpet for thousands of quilters during QuiltWeek. Between the well-known Paducah Ambassadors, residents opening their homes to quilters, and restaurants offering special options, visitors experience hospitality that makes Paducah famous among quilters. Local businesses complete the experience for quilters by presenting AQS Sanctioned Events at locations such as the Yeiser Art Center, Rotary Club of Paducah, and National Quilt Museum.
Admission to AQS QuiltWeek includes access to all special exhibits and the Merchant Mall with hundreds of quilting items for sale. Hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, April 22-24, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25.
