American Retailer Five Below Joining McKnight Shopping Center
GRASS VALLEY, Calif. (PRWEB) May 01, 2023 -- Mesa Management, a California-based full service management company specializing in multi-family communities, senior communities and commercial retail and office sites, today announced the specialty store Five Below will be joining a suite of shops and eateries reshaping the McKnight Shopping Center.
Five Below, an American retail store focused on families and young shoppers, offers everything from sports gear and arts and crafts to tech gadgets and lifestyle accessories — all at affordable prices for Grass Valley households and travelers. The retail store, centrally located in the center, will fill a 9,600 square feet location and is projected to open during the first quarter of 2024.
“This addition really makes the McKnight Center an outstanding location with options for everyone,” said Steve Mensinger, President of Mesa Management. “I am excited about the improvements and renovations we are making to the center. Five Below is a crucial part of that.”
A main stop for families and kids, guests can expect the American retail store to join other large tenants such as Target, Big 5 Sporting Goods, and SPD Market as well as three new open-air spaces that allow friends to eat and come together.
“With the completion of negotiations with our last major tenant Five Below, we will now focus on smaller local fare tenants to rebuild our food and lifestyle elements,” said Mensinger. "‘The Mix,’ ‘The Grove,’ and ‘Midway’ will be elements of our center that accentuate the Grass Valley lifestyle and provide open air dining and gathering spaces in an eclectic Grass Valley fashion.”
The Mix and Midway, two spaces that allow guests to lounge, eat or bide time on relaxing benches and chairs bring a sense of community to the center. With local vintners, coffee roasters, artisans and more to fill the McKnight center, The Mix and Midway makes this center a holistic place and compliments these small vendors well.
A freestanding building on the east side of the center was purchased to make The Grove, a space filled with eateries and outdoor seating to gather and unwind. With lighting and murals to beautify the building, The Grove will serve as a social hub for the center.
The construction of these three gathering points is in progress and soon to arrive. They coincide with site improvements, including upgrades to store fronts and the exterior facade, a rejuvenation of the parking lot and a transition by Big 5 from the location Five Below will fill to a larger 11,953 square-foot location expected to be completed this summer.
