American School Releases New Carpentry and English 2 Courses
Lansing, IL (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- The American School is pleased to announce the release of new courses in Carpentry and English 2: Composition and Grammar.
Carpentry, which contains six exams and is worth one unit of credit, provides a systematic overview of the most common tools, materials and procedures used in residential construction, from laying a foundation to finish work.
Students who take Carpentry will learn to calculate board feet, interpret labeling information, identify components in drawings as well as complete objective questions which test their knowledge of the basic tools, materials and procedures.
English 2: Composition and Grammar, which contains six exams and is worth one-half unit of credit, is the second in a series of one-half unit courses which stress a positive interest in language and training in speaking and writing.
Students who take English 2: Composition and Grammar will build on the understanding of vocabulary, grammar, writing and speaking acquired in English 1: Composition and Grammar. They develop their communication skills through expanding their vocabulary, analyzing sentence structure, and writing themes.
