American Sentinel University Nurses Honored at Charter Chapter Honor Society of Nursing Induction Ceremony
Aurora, CO (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- American Sentinel University’s charter Chi Alpha Chapter of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) recently approved and chartered as an official STTI chapter, held its first STTI honor society induction ceremony at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Aurora, Colo. on July 24.
“American Sentinel University is honored to join the many schools that have established Sigma Theta Tau International chapters. Our faculty, administration, alumni and students are committed to fulfilling the mission of Sigma Theta Tau International and make a difference in health care worldwide,” says Judy Burckhardt, Ph.D., MAEd, MSN, RN, dean, nursing programs at American Sentinel University. “Becoming a chapter in this prestigious organization is a positive way for our nursing programs to recognize our students’ achievements and identify future nursing leaders who will have a strong presence in the health care arena. They will play an instrumental role in the change of delivery of health care and the promotion of health worldwide.”
Dr. Sandra Wise, Chi Alpha Chapter President, organized the chartering ceremony where 235 charter members were inducted, which included nursing students, alumni, faculty, administration and nurse leaders from American Sentinel's nursing program, into STTI, the Honor Society of Nursing.

STTI membership is by invitation and extended to undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and nurse leaders who have demonstrated superior scholastic, leadership and nursing achievements.
Following the chartering ceremony, a reception was held and nursing dignitary and STTI director Dr. Robin Toms took part in the event.
