American Textile Company Appoints New Senior Executive
DUQUESNE, PA (PRWEB) July 13, 2015 -- Pittsburgh-based American Textile Company, a leading provider of innovative sleep solutions since 1925, announced today it has added a new Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Pete Marsalis, to its team of senior executives.
Marsalis will fill the newly-created position, overseeing and managing American Textile Company’s worldwide investment in human capital and advancing the company’s human resources strategy to complement its growth. Beginning with a single operation in Pittsburgh, the company now has five manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and El Salvador, and offices in Davidson, North Carolina, New York, New York and Shanghai, China.
Privately-held, American Textile Company sales have grown 14 percent annually over the last 10 years, making the company one of the largest bedding and pillow manufacturers in the country and a leader in the application of new fabric technologies. The company now employs over 900 people worldwide, with more than 200 at their Duquesne headquarters. American Textile Company has added nearly 50 positions in the last year. They service the majority of retailers in the country who sell bedding, with brands including AllerEase®, Sealy® and EvenTemp®.

Marsalis comes to American Textile Company from Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he led human resources, various global initiatives and organizational leadership for major divisions of the $17 billion publicly-traded company. Previously, Marsalis spent several years at Mercer Consulting, helping employers advance the health, wealth and performance of employees.

Marsalis has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee.
