Amplion President to Affirm: Technology Can Play Powerful Role as Hospitals Continue Move to Value-Based Care
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (PRWEB) September 28, 2017 -- As value-based care replaces the previous volume-based care standard among America’s hospitals, the president of Amplion Clinical Communication, Frank Grant, has a message.
"Technology is one of the best tools in making that transformation truly effective for patients and their families, nursing teams and all healthcare providers. Embracing it fully can be one of the smartest moves hospitals and patient experience executives will ever make."
The audience for his comments? Attendees at the 11th Annual Fall Health 2.0 national conference, to be held October 1-4 in Santa Clara, California.
“The healthcare industry is in the throes of one of the greatest revolutions ever and Health 2.0 is the premier stage for companies like Amplion to demonstrate the power of innovative technology in transitioning the nation’s healthcare system from volume to value,” Grant said in discussing what he’ll tell attendees at the conference. “We’ve long advocated for technology’s role in moving the industry from one concerned about the quantity of services to one more resolute about patient health outcomes and the quality of care that caregivers provide. This shift will benefit everyone involved, from patients to caregivers to the institutions where that care happens. We’re looking forward to demonstrating technology’s impact in that move.”
An industry disrupter that combines next-gen clinical communications technologies to transition healthcare into the emerging real-time health system (RTHS), Amplion Clinical Communications is converting the traditional nurse call system into one that helps clinical teams make more data-driven decisions about patient care. The Amplion Alert platform has helped hospitals close care loops and improve both clinical and financial performance, as well as enhance patient safety and experience.
Launched in 2007, Health 2.0 has grown dramatically into a digital health media company and global movement of more than 100,000+ entrepreneurs, developers and healthcare stakeholders that believes digital tools will empower and enable people to live healthier lives. The Santa Clara conference is the entity’s signature event and has spawned a grassroots network of chapters in 90+ cities worldwide.
Grant’s observations will be part of a Monday, October 2nd morning conference segment titled “Solutions Driving Value-Based Care.” The healthcare leader will join four other companies in profiling advances that are helping the industry move a step closer to fully implementing value-based care.
“In essence, our patient/nurse communications innovations help caregivers be more effective and hospitals reap the rewards of providing a superior patient experience and greater value,” Grant said. “By combining advanced nurse call, care collaboration tools, alarm management, reporting and data analytics into a single system, hospitals can track, manage and confirm care delivery for every single patient. It helps the hospital close the loop on care and its analytics deliver the real-time point-of-care data nursing leaders need to provide safer, smarter patient care. That’s real value.”
Grant has more than 30 years of healthcare industry experience, having led the healthcare division at Cisco’s North American Healthcare, in addition to other leadership stints at other technology companies. He joined Amplion in 2014 to lead sales, business development and marketing efforts for the company. Building on his success in that role, Grant was tapped to become president earlier this year.
Amplion recently became the first nurse call provider in the United States certified under new Underwriter Laboratories (UL) safety standards that govern hospital in-room care responses by caregivers. The standards are expected to speed up implementation of the Gartner-led Real Time Health System, a new healthcare delivery and communication process that combines innovative technologies and interoperability to improve hospital in-patient care.
