AMTC Grad Nathan Clarkson Releases New Film, “Confessions of a Prodigal Son”
(PRWEB) January 19, 2015 -- “Confessions of a Prodigal Son” is a new inspirational drama starring Kevin Sorbo (God’s Not Dead, Hercules) and Nathan Clarkson (The Veil, Mayflower 2). The film, written and produced by Clarkson, is a modern retelling of a commonly recognized parable of Jesus, the Prodigal Son. This coming-of-age film follows a character named Sean (Clarkson), as he rebels and leaves his father (Sorbo) and home to figure out life on his own.“Sean has a unwavering determination to live life to the fullest, which is something that can lead to trouble if unguided, but can also bring the motivation to find redemption and meaning,” Clarkson says.
The movie, being distributed by Cinedigm (God’s Not Dead and The Identical), is set for theatrical release in select cities beginning in February and available on DVD and Digital HD March 24. “Confessions of a Prodigal Son” will be appearing in every Walmart (among other major retailers) in the country, with the trailer playing in Christian bookstores. “When it came to actually writing and producing the film, it was amazingly hard, but unbelievably fun and rewarding.” Clarkson adds, “Through the relationships I had built in the industry, I was able to assemble amazing talent who captured the vision that God had given me.”
Clarkson attended and received his start at the Actors, Models & Talent for Christ SHINE Conference 2008. “I look back with fond memories of AMTC: my journey beginning, and meeting the people who would ultimately support and guide me.” Clarkson says, “AMTC gave me the tools, confidence and relationships to know how to enter the world of entertainment. In fact, I am still very close to my first agent, who I met at SHINE.”
AMTC is an international talent-development ministry dedicated to “Making Good Bolder” on the stages of film, fashion, music and theater.
