An Opportunity to Fill Your Summer with Meaning and Depth
Clyde, NC (PRWEB) June 08, 2015 -- A free Seva Program is happening from June through September at Mount Soma, outside of Asheville, North Carolina. This course gives people the opportunity to fill their summer with meaning and depth by providing service for the greater good. Many people who visit Mount Soma and Sri Somesvara Temple are curious about Mount Soma, Dr. Michael Mamas, and the Mount Soma Ashram. Seva Program participants can satisfy their curiosity by performing daily activities with the ashram and living at Mount Soma.
Pandit Prasad, the Vedic pandit at Sri Somesvara, reminds us of the famous quote, “The purpose of the human life is to serve others.” Many of the Seva Program applicants are Indians living in America who are excited for the opportunity to perform seva. In talking to the applicants, it is clear that these devotees are not coming from a place of wanting to do service in order to receive some karmic benefit. Instead, these people are interested in seva because the desire is to give to the temple and sustain their meaningful cultural heritage.
