Anderson Strathern has Achieved a Unique Double in its Investors in People Accreditations.
Edinburgh, Scotland (PRWEB UK) 23 April 2015 -- The full service law firm based in Edinburgh and Glasgow was awarded the IIP Gold Accreditation in 2011, the highest level of recognition for the championing of best practice in the development and management of all of its 225 employees. Now the firm has been awarded the IIP Young People Accreditation – making it the only law firm to have both an IIP Gold and a Young People Accreditation.
The IIP Young People Accreditation is the only people management standard which focuses on an employer’s recruitment and retention of young people, representing a real commitment to the training and development of young people and making Anderson Strathern a key employer choice for young people.
One of the highlights found in the way Anderson Strathern works with young people was a comprehensive induction process which recognises the importance of the transition from university or school into the workplace, focusing on young people’s needs as they begin their career with the firm.
Other initiatives include the firm’s Future Industries Group which is led and made up of the firm’s young lawyers. The firm’s commitment to the development and encouragement of young people was also seen when its trainees and newly qualified solicitors made presentations to the annual Partners’ Conference.
Murray McCall, Managing Partner, said: “Our people are the heart of our business and it is tremendous to find that our commitment to their development is recognised both in the Gold Accreditation and now the new specialist accreditation for young people. We are completely committed to harnessing the enthusiasm young people bring to the business and to encouraging our young people to grow and reach their full potential with the firm.”
Peter Russian, Chief Executive of Investors in People Scotland, said “This is a fantastic achievement for Anderson Strathern, and I and the whole IIYP team would like to wholeheartedly congratulate them. The Investors in Young People framework not only recognises and supports organisations in the employment of young people, but marks them out as an employer of choice.”
