San Francisco, California (PRWEB) April 29, 2014 -- Andrew Hawley of Vintage Rock Posters Inc., finds rare 1968 Jimi Hendrix Merriweather Post Pavilion Concert Poster. The Merriweather Post Pavilion was a favorite venue for many of the top rock acts in the 1960s. The Pavilion was an outdoor amphitheater located in Columbia Maryland not far from Washington D.C. The Hendrix concert was held on August 16. 1968. According to Hawley, “The Jimi Hendrix concert poster was given to a concert goer by a local record store. The poster was stored flat for decades away from sunlight. It is in excellent condition. The same person had a Led Zeppelin Merriweather Post Pavilion poster, but it was lost in a move. It is very common for posters to get left behind or trashed when people move.”
Hawley adds, “Dail Beeghly created the Jimi Hendrix Merriweather concert poster. Beeghly was a poster artist located in the Washington D.C. area who also produced posters for Janis Joplin and the Doors when they played the Maryland and Washington D.C. area in the late 1960s. Beeghly’s posters are bright, use dayglow ink with psychedelic lettering. He incorporates the artist or the group into the layout of the poster.” For more information about this Jimi Hendrix psychedelic concert posters, please go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/psychedelic/jimi_hendrix.html.
