Andrew Wilson appointed Managing Director of the Center for International Private Enterprise
Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 27, 2016 -- Andrew Wilson has been appointed as Managing Director of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), Greg Lebedev, CIPE’s Chairman of the Board announced today.
“After careful deliberation and conversations with a list of highly talented and widely experienced individuals, CIPE’s search committee and Board enthusiastically and unanimously selected Andrew for this position. We are impressed by his intellect, his leadership, his unique appreciation of the field,and his vision for CIPE’s future,” Lebedev said.
The appointment of Wilson is the organization’s first change of command in 25 years. He succeeds the long-time Executive Director, John Sullivan, who retired earlier this year.
Michael Hershman, who headed CIPE’s search committee, observed that the comprehensive process to identify the most worthy individual to build upon CIPE’s three decades of uniquely successful work was driven by the institution’s commitment to its global partners, to the National Endowment for Democracy, of which CIPE is a core institute, and to the millions of people throughout the world who desperately need a champion of democratic governance and free market economics.

Wilson most recently served as CIPE’s Deputy Director for Strategic Planning and Programs. With degrees from the University of London (UK) and Lewis and Clark College, he was previously the Regional Director for Europe, Eurasia, and South Asia, where he directed grant and technical assistance programs and coordinated CIPE’s corporate governance efforts across the globe.
