Andrews Federal Credit Union Sponsors Cherry Blossom Run
Suitland, MD (PRWEB) February 19, 2016 -- Andrews Federal Credit Union is a proud sponsor of the annual Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and 5K Walk, also known as Credit Union Miracle Day (CUMD).
Each spring credit unions nationwide unite to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals with the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, and through sister races held in Sacramento, California and even on foreign soil in Afghanistan and Germany. These events provide an avenue for athletes to indulge their passion while saving lives in their local communities. Every dollar raised as a result of race sponsorship and fundraising activities helps ensure that those 170 hospitals across the country will continue to be able to treat any child in need of care, regardless of the family’s ability to pay.
Since 2002, the Credit Union Miracle Day, Inc. has donated over $6 million thanks to the support of sponsors like our credit union, and individual credit union members. Our collective generosity helps to give millions of children hope for a better tomorrow April 3, 2016 marks the 44th running of the race.
“We are very proud of how credit unions, our business partners‚ and our members have all collaborated to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals‚” said Andrews Federal President & CEO, Jim Hayes. “This race isn’t just about runners, it is about the bigger picture, the opportunity for Andrews Federal to volunteer and display our cooperative spirit and commitment to providing hope to children and their families at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”
The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run has provided a wonderful opportunity to illustrate to the Metropolitan area the credit union difference. Credit Union Miracle Day is the largest national credit union event for Credit Unions for Kids, which is a non-profit collaboration of credit unions engaged in fundraising activities to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is an alliance of premier children’s hospitals across North America which treats 10 million critically ill children annually‚ regardless of their ability to pay. For more information‚ visit http://www.childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org.
