Andrews International’s C&I Execs Travel to ASIS Event in Toronto
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 23, 2015 -- Security company executives from Andrews International (AI) are visiting Toronto the last week of January for an event held by ASIS International Toronto in partnership with the Fire & Emergency Services Training Institute (FESTI). The event will provide the security community a first look at FESTI’s new one day certificate training program, “The Life Safety of Security.”
A first of its kind program, “The Life Safety of Security” is specific training in the field of life safety targeted to security personnel, who are often the “true” first responders until emergency services personnel arrive at a facility or workplace. Developed by police, fire, and EMS experts, with vital contributions from facility operations & code compliance professionals, the training is designed to bridge the gaps in current life safety training in the security industry.
AI will be represented at the event by three senior professionals from the security company’s Consulting and Investigations (C&I) division: D.C. Page, Senior Vice President, Fredrick A. Foster, CPP, Vice President, Special Projects Group, and James A. Acevedo, CPP, CPS, Executive Director, Global Operations.
AI’s C&I division manages risk for multinational corporations and law firms around the world. The C&I division has had projects in Canada for years, and AI’s uniformed security division has had a presence in Canada for some time. The company recently opened an office in Toronto to establish a permanent presence for current clients and the market place. James A. Acevedo, CPP, CPS recently joined AI and heads up the Toronto practice with a strong background in security and investigations. He has made a name for himself working on projects providing risk mitigation services, supply chain security, and consulting and investigations throughout the globe.

The event takes place on January 27th, 2015 at the Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute, located within the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA). Scheduled speakers include the GTAA fire chief and deputy fire chief (acting), as well as the president and senior adviser of the National Life Safety Group and former chair of BOMA Toronto’s Emergency Management Committee. In addition to speaker presentations, the event includes a catered lunch, networking opportunities, and a Smoke Tower High-Rise Simulated Evacuation & Life Fire Demo.
