Angels of America’s Fallen Wins Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Award
Colorado Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) November 11, 2016 -- Angels of America’s Fallen (AOAF), the distinctive non-profit that supports children of fallen military and first responders, has just been announced as a winner of the Chick-fil-A Foundation’s prestigious True Inspiration Awards (West Region). Chick-fil-A patrons nationwide helped clinch the win for AOAF by voting for the organization via the Chick-fil-A One mobile app.
The award, an honor in its own right, is accompanied by a generous grant to help Angels of America’s Fallen support more children of America’s fallen heroes. AOAF is also invited to a Chick-fil-A Foundation celebratory event in Atlanta early next year.
“We are beyond honored to have been selected as a Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Award winner,” said Joe Lewis, Founder and CEO of AOAF. “We would like to sincerely thank everyone who voted for us: The award and its accompanying grant money will be an enormous boost in helping us move deserving children off of our waiting list.”
AOAF directly funds healthy activities for children of fallen military and first responders, from the time of loss—all the way through age 18. In the past two years, AOAF has seen a dramatic spike in demand for its services and the organization has been working diligently to secure the funds needed to accept new children into its program.
AOAF was nominated for this year’s True Inspiration Award by Linda & Randy Watson, the Owners of the Chick-fil-A Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, CO; the city in which AOAF is headquartered.
“It is a distinct joy for my wife and I to see Angels of America’s Fallen named a winner in this year’s True Inspiration Awards,” said Randy Watson. “It has been our privilege to partner with AOAF within our own community and we think that this award is a fitting recognition of all that they do for our nation.”
The Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards, now in their 3rd year, are inspired by the life and generosity of the late founder of Chick-fil-A, S. Truett Cathy.
