Angott Search Group Awarded for Partnering with Lighthouse of Oakland County to Put People to Work
Rochester, MI (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- Angott Search Group (ASG), a leading executive search and recruitment organization, has been selected by Lighthouse of Oakland County, a transitional housing program, to receive the Beacon Award in recognition of its dedication to furthering Lighthouse’s mission of providing life skills and job training to homeless residents. The executive search firm has been a proud partner of Lighthouse for the past six years, providing monthly recruiter-facilitated job training programs to help homeless women enter the work force and gain independence.
Helping individuals that seek to move from crisis mode to self-sufficiency has become almost second nature to the ASG staff. Individuals from the executive, recruiting and marketing teams all participate in the company’s work with Lighthouse. “Every day in our work we are changing the lives of our candidates by providing them with new career opportunities,” says Mark Angott, founder and president of ASG. “It’s a natural extension to apply our resources and help people in our community change their lives through career advice and counseling.”
ASG employees support the Lighthouse PATH division, which is a transitional supportive housing program, designed to help homeless women and children gain the skills and confidence needed to live safely and independently. “ASG employees have volunteered their time and expertise,” says Chief Development Officer Priscilla Perkins, “to help mothers and other individuals increase their employment opportunities and achieve the financial stability necessary to lead self-sufficient and fulfilled lives.”
Participants may live at PATH for up to two years while they complete their education, get a job, or enroll in a job training program. They attend life skills classes that cover a variety of topics including, how to prepare for an interview, resume guidelines and how to use social media effectively when seeking employment. “The experienced recruiters at ASG lead these life skills sessions twice a month, year round,” says Laurie Horvath, Board Chair of Lighthouse of Oakland County. “Their assistance in helping our people prepare to enter the workforce is invaluable because they bring real life relevance to the classes and truly prepare potential candidates for the situations they will encounter in their job searches.”
“Lighthouse is blessed to have the support of the outstanding ASG team, and we’re especially grateful to Brian Rhonemus and Beth Grossman who also serve on our governing boards,” says John Ziraldo, CEO of Lighthouse.
“We are very honored to have received this recognition,” says Angott. “We look forward to continuing our efforts with Lighthouse of Oakland County for the betterment of our community and its people."
