Animal Behavior College Helping Pets Look Their Best for Adoption
Santa Clarita, CA (PRWEB) January 20, 2014 -- Animal Behavior College (ABC) donated dozens of grooming kits and myriad supplies to The Brittany Foundation Animal Sanctuary, Best Friends Animal Society and Advanced Care Animal Hospital. All three facilities are located in Southern California and are dedicated to serving the pet animal population. The donated items consisted of clipper kits, blades, clipper spray, shear kits, head collars, grooming duffle bags and books, totaling more than $35,000 in retail value.
ABC had a significant amount of unused grooming kits due to a supplier change and opted to donate the items instead of selling them. The donation will help the rescue groups make the animals look their best while finding them forever homes.
“Best Friends Animal Society, The Brittany Foundation and the Advanced Care Animal Hospital are valued supporters of Animal Behavior College and our students,” said Debbie Kendrick, vice president of ABC. “These like-minded organizations share our desire to help animals and the people who love them. The grooming supplies and tool kits we donated will make a difference in the lives of the animals these companies help each and every day and is a small way for us to show our appreciation for their dedication.”
The Brittany Foundation Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill shelter, is a 501c (3) nonprofit located in Acton Calif. It is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for homeless dogs so that they can find their forever homes. The Brittany Foundation rescues all dogs regardless of breed.
“I was speechless when I saw how much stuff was being delivered,” said Nancy Anderson founder of The Brittany Foundation Animal Sanctuary. “We will use what we can and the remaining items will be used as a fundraising tool that will help with veterinary costs, food and rescuing more dogs.”
Best Friends Animal Society, a national leader in the no-kill movement, is headquartered in Kanab, Utah, with locations across the United States. ABC works closely with Best Friends’ Mission Hills, Calif., shelter. The rescue has implemented target spay/neuter and TNR programs to help decrease the number of animals who enter shelters. Through its efforts, the number of pets who are adopted is increasing.
Advanced Care Animal Hospital is of Santa Clarita Valley’s most advanced veterinary facilities. Established in October 2012, the hospital is dedicated to helping pets throughout their lifetimes.
