Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “Dominant Guitar Lick in A - Blues Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) April 19, 2014 -- “We are looking at a nice dominant seventh lick you can use in a blues,” says MacLennan. This easy blues guitar lick is in the key of A and Jon demonstrates the lick as follows: seventh fret of the fifth string with his third finger and sixth fret of the third string with his second finger, and plays it by sliding into it from one half step below. Next, he frets the fifth fret of the third and second strings with his first finger, and then seventh fret of the third and second strings with his third finger, and then back to the previous double stop at the fifth fret. Next, Jon plays a nice little melody centered around an A7 chord and then an Ab7 (A flat 7) and sliding into A7 and then ending with an A Major Triad to A7 chord which resolves very nicely. Jon says that the whole idea is to think about a melody harmonized with double stops over a chord voicing, all of which can be used as a cool blues solo.
