This cool blues lick is the in key of E and is applied over the four chord which is A. Jon demonstrates how to play the lick as follows; slide into the 6th fret of the 3rd string with 3rd finger to 5th fret of the 2nd string with first finger. Next is a chromatic descending sequence of the 7th, 6th and 5th frets of the first string with 3rd, 2nd and first fingers to the 8th fret of the 2nd string with 3rd finger with a slight bend and ending on the 5th fret with first finger. Eric Clapton is an English guitarist, singer and song writer born in Ripley, Surrey England in 1945. He is considered to be one of the most influential guitarists of all time and was ranked number 2 on Rolling Stones list of the 100 greatest guitarists. He is the only person to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three separate times and has won 17 Grammy awards.

Jon has done session work for Julian Lennon, Steven Tyler, and British pop star Jamie Cullum. He has appeared on Disney channels “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and on the sound track to the movie “Marley and Me 2 – The Puppy Years”. MacLennan earned a bachelor’s in ethnomusicology and jazz guitar studies from University of California, Los Angeles, and has been mentored by Carl Verheyen, Wolf Marshall, Kenny Burrell, Anthony Wilson, Tamir Hendelmen, Jimmy Wyble and Ron Anthony which has made him a highly sought after guitar instructor today.
