Announcement: GuitarControl.com releases “Blues Guitar Lesson on Bending Licks”
(PRWEB) October 08, 2014 -- “Today I want to talk about a soloing concept that I call diatonic bending”, says Johnson. Claude demonstrates this concept using both the pentatonic scale and the major scale by performing some licks that are weaved in and out of both scale patterns. Johnson explains and demonstrates the two different methods of bending, pulling and pushing, and says that it is easier to pull on the lower strings and to push on the higher strings. Claude teaches a pattern for practicing this concept as follows; 6th fret of the 4th string with first finger, 7th fret with 2nd finger and 9th fret with 4th finger and then the same sequence on the 3rd string. Then starting at the 9th fret of the 3rd string Claude descends the scale stopping on the 6th fret of each string for a half step bend. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy beginner guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.
The Pentatonic Scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave. They can be found all over the world and are the main scale used in the Blues genre.
The major scale, aka the Ionian Mode, is a seven tone diatonic scale that is widely used in western music. The eighth duplicates the first at double its frequency so that it is called a higher octave of the same note, which its name is derived from Latin "octavus", the eighth.
