Announcement: GuitarControl.com Releases “Latin Minor Progression `Montuno´ Style - Latin Rhythm Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) August 23, 2014 -- MacLennan demonstrates this Latin Montuno Rhythm Vamp as follows; starting on an Am (A minor) triad that consists of 7th fret of the 4th string with 3rd finger and baring your first finger across the 5th fret of the first three strings. Jon continues by moving the bass note on the 4th string down one half step at a time chromatically, but keeping the same 5th fret notes on the first three strings which makes the following chords; AmM7 (A minor major seven), Am7 (A minor seven) and Am6 (A minor six). MacLennan plays the riff using the hybrid picking technique by picking the 4th string with his guitar pick and the first three strings with his fingers and counts the bass notes as the down beats and the higher notes as the up beats. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy rhythm guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.
A Montuno is a musical term used to describe many different aspects of Cuban music and literally means “from the mountain”.
