Announcing a New Partnership to Publish Early China

Cambridge University Press is pleased to announce that it will begin publishing Early China in 2014. The official publication of the Society for the Study of Early China(SSEC), Early China is the only English-language journal to focus solely on China’s culture and civilization from the earliest era through the period of the Han dynasty (220 CE).
The journal is truly interdisciplinary in scope, publishing peer-reviewed articles on Chinese archaeology, history, philosophy, religion, philology, art history, and paleography among other fields. A unique aspect of the journal is the regular publication of articles on early Chinese writing and research which make use of paleographic materials. SSEC now partners with Cambridge to foster the best in scholarship and to bring this excellent journal to the widest possible readership.
Early China will now be available in a fully searchable electronic format in addition to print. 2014 library subscriptions will include online access back to Volume 32 (2008-2009). Volumes 1 through 31 (1975-2007) will be available through the Cambridge Journals Digital Archive. Member subscriptions will include online access to all prior volumes, as well as to all 2014 articles as each is published online during the course of the year.
