Announcing fanaticSalon's new show "Pulp & Prejudice: A Defense of Romance Novels" Written/performed by Jenny Noa and Directed by Jane Morris
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- Announcing the February 14th premiere of fanaticSalon’s new show, “Pulp & Prejudice: A Defense of Romance Novels.” This hysterical and ultimately moving one woman show features Los Angeles writer/performer Jenny Noa as she defends her obsession with romance – in novels, films and real life – and examines why we latch on to the things we love in the first place.
The show is directed by Jane Morris, a co-founder of the Chicago Second City ETC and former performer, writer and director for Chicago Second City. Morris has directed award-winning solo shows, including NAACP-nominated "Take Me to the Poorhouse,” which won Best International Show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival; and "Life Audited," winner of Best of the Fest at the San Francisco Fringe Festival. Jane was nominated for a 1988 Joseph Jefferson Award for Director of a Revue for "Channel This" at the Second City Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, and she most recently directed Carla Cackowski in "The Seriously Neurotic Dream of Mary Shelley" at the Solo Collective. Jane co-founded the Upfront Comedy theater in Santa Monica and is the operator of the fanaticSalon in Culver City where she teaches a solo performance workshop. She is also an established actress known for Behind the Candelabra (2013), Runaway Bride (1999) and True Lies (1994).
Writer/Performer Jenny Noa is a (Tom Waits kind of) New Jersey girl, who now makes her home in California. A trained actress and improviser, Jenny performs in essay shows around Los Angeles, including Piñata: The Personal Essay Show, BYOB PEZ Show, and Muse Salon for Writers and Performers.
Opening Night is February 14, 2015, Valentine’s Day, at 8:00pm with performances continuing Sundays Feb 15 – Mar 29, 2015 at 7:00pm. Call 310.622.2046 to reserve tickets and press passes.
