Anthem Educator Recognized by Taylor Morrison as December’s ‘Teacher of the Month’ as Part of KEZ 99.9 FM’s ‘Excellence in Education’
Anthem, Arizona (PRWEB) December 31, 2013 -- Taylor Morrison and KEZ 99.9 FM are partnering to spotlight one outstanding Valley educator each month during the 2013-2014 school year as part of the radio station’s “Excellence in Education” recognition program. December’s winner is Julie Paschal of Diamond Canyon School in Anthem.
Paschal, a kindergarten teacher at Diamond Canyon School, is being recognized for her kindness and child-centered teaching techniques that put an emphasis on challenging students to do their best and build on their areas of weakness. She will receive an “Excellence in Education” plaque from Taylor Morrison and KEZ 99.9 FM, $99 and a prize for her exceptional achievements in the classroom.
Parents of the students in Paschal’s class are continually impressed with the great educational leaps their children have made in only a few months. Anjee Poll, a frequent volunteer in Paschal’s classroom and mother of one of her students, said she nominated Paschal because, “As parents we hope our students will get the ‘right’ teacher who will help them to love learning and inspire them to be their best and to be interested in learning new things. That is what she’s done for my son.”
Poll’s son has a variety of disabilities, including high functioning autism that have affected his ability to learn and work with other students. She says Paschal “goes above and beyond what is asked of her and gives her son the individual attention he needs to be successful and learn in school.”
“We are honored to present Julie Paschal with the Excellence in Education award this month,” said Bob Thompson, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison’s Phoenix Division. “As an educator, she has touched the lives of each individual student that has stepped into her classroom and is dedicated to providing a learning environment they can excel in.”
Students and parents are encouraged to nominate K-12 teachers in the Valley who deserve recognition for their outstanding educating abilities and making a difference in their student’s lives.
Previous winners have included Chris Whitehead of Freemont Junior High School, Cindy Cordts of Oakwood Elementary and Michelle Capriotti of Charlotte Patterson Elementary.
KEZ’s Marty Manning will surprise each monthly winner with a visit and present them with an Excellence in Education award. The visit will be broadcasted during the Beth and Friends Show, with airs weekdays from 5-10 a.m.
At the culmination of each school year the “Teacher of the Month” winners are invited to attend a banquet at The Capital Grille in Phoenix where $999 will be awarded to one special educator.
