Anthony Weiner Offered PR Help from Publicist Trent Silver, TMZ.com Gets the Word Out
New York, New York (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- Publicist Trent Silver has issued a public statement and letter to Anthony Weiner to curtail the sexting scandal surrounding his mayoral campaign. TMZ broke the story that Trent Silver, CMO of Silver Visibility, public relations and crisis management firm, is offering his services to help Weiner get his campaign back on track.
"I want to help get Weiner's campaign back on track with a dose of PR Viagra. Since he's not ‘pulling out’ of the race, we are offering to facilitate a partnership with a wholesome brand, such as Oscar Mayer Wieners or Planters Nuts, to make people forget his salacious side," says Silver.
The TMZ article notes that the letter specifically says Silver Visibility experts "will teach [Weiner] the proper way to use social media so [he] won't get caught with his pants down." Among the suggestions they offer are the Snapchat app, so his raunchy photos disappear in six seconds instead of his political career, and the Drunk Dial! NO! app that hides a contact's phone number(s) and email address(es) for between one and 48 hours. There's no limit on how many contacts you can lock.
Silver also offers to match the consulting fee Weiner would pay for restoring his reputation in donations to FDNY in Weiner's name, "so they can put out your fires - in more ways than one."
While much of the letter is intended to be tongue-in-cheek, Silver is serious about his offer to help Weiner restore his reputation and about the offer to match the fee in donations to FDNY. "It's not impossible to come back after a sex scandal," explains Silver.
In fact, he says in the letter, "Don’t worry, Mr. Weiner, these scandals seem like they are career killers however, let us remind you that Marv Albert, Charles Barkley and Frank Gifford all got 'caught with their pants down' as well and most everyone has forgotten about their indiscretions (well, until we just reminded them)."
