API’s CEO Sheryl Barden Appointed to NBAA Board of Directors
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 17, 2017 -- Sheryl Barden, President and CEO of Aviation Personnel International (apiaviation.com), has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). As Vice Chair of NBAA’s Associate Member Advisory Council, Barden is one of two associate members to serve on the NBAA Board.
The NBAA Board of Directors is responsible for managing the affairs of the Association and working together on behalf of NBAA Members to promote business aviation access, operational excellence, professional development, safety and technical standards, and security.

Barden joined Aviation Personnel International in 2001, as Vice President of Business Development, and she assumed the critical role of President in 2003. She added CEO responsibilities to her position in 2013. API has grown exponentially under her leadership, while always remaining true to the company’s founding principles of integrity, confidentiality and industry-leading client service.

Barden is an aviation industry thought leader on employment issues, such as the aviation talent shortage and pilot professionalism, and was a contributor at the National Transportation Safety Board’s Safety Symposium, in response to the 2009 Colgan Air accident.
An aviation industry recruitment and talent identification veteran, Barden is a frequent guest speaker for several aviation organizations and an author of numerous articles in industry publications. She is particularly regarded for applying her extensive background in employee search, screening and coaching to fulfill aviation recruiting and human resource consulting needs.
She is a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), Flight Safety Foundation, International Aviation Women’s Association and Women in Corporate Aviation, and she serves on the NBAA Associate Member Advisory Council, as well as chairing its Nominating Committee. Barden is also a member and past president of the International Women’s Forum of Northern California.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in management from Pennsylvania State University, and a MBA from the McLaren School of Business, at the University of San Francisco.
