Apnix Sleep Diagnostics Announces New Houston Sleep Apnea Treatments

Sleep apnea reduces the quality of sleep, and it can lead to more serious problems, such as frequent drowsiness, obesity, memory difficulties, sexual dysfunction, and heart failure.
Apnix's sleep experts start off by determining the type of sleep apnea. There are three variants: central (CSA), which is caused by respiratory problems; obstructive (OSA), which is caused by the blocking of the airway opening; and complex or mixed sleep apnea, which is a combination of CSA and OSA. Apnix Sleep Diagnostics also measures the severity of the sleep apnea and then begins to devise a treatment plan. For OSA sufferers in particular, Apnix prescribes Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, best known as CPAP. A non-invasive, non-surgical method of treatment, CPAP consist of a small mask placed over the nose of the patient to provide continuous air pressure and consequently keep the airway open.
