Appalachian GhostWalks' NEW Elizabethton Ghost and History Tours
Elizabethton, Tennessee (PRWEB) September 09, 2015 -- Appalachian GhostWalks' Tennessee Smoky Mountain and Virginia Southern Highlands Ghost and History Tours are guided, lantern-led haunted historic tours presented by well trained "Mountain Mysteries Guides" who recount spine-tingling accounts of otherworldly encounters alongside real history as it verifies their findings as researchers. Everyone is invited to bring the whole family, or tour group on a haunted history adventure in what the Cherokee called "Shaconage" - the sacred land of blue smoke.
Including the NEW "Haunted Historic Elizabethton GhostWalk", departing from Jiggy Ray's Pizzeria located in the historic district of the town, Appalachian GhostWalks now offers sixteen different Ghost and History Tours located throughout the mountains of Northeastern Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
"We are so very proud to introduce the newest edition in our family of walking tours, the "Haunted Historic Elizabethton GhostWalk", opening to the general public on Friday, September 11th, 2015. The tour will be ongoing and depart nightly year-round with advance reservations required. The inaugural tour will be a limited special edition tour starting at the Covered Bridge on Thursday, September the 10th at 8:30 PM with all proceeds to benefit the Carter County Cancer Relay for Life. There will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony presented by the Elizabethton Chamber of Commerce at 7 PM, also at the Covered Bridge, to commemorate the occasion", said Michael Combs, Assistant Director for Appalachian GhostWalks.
Other East Tennessee Lantern-led walking tours include: Historic Dandridge, Erwin and Unicoi County Heritage Museum, the East Tennessee State University Campus, Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site, Greeneville, Rogersville, Blountville, downtown Johnson City's "Little Chicago GhostWalk", Gatlinburg, and Jonesborough. In southwest Virginia, haunted historic tours presently include Historic Bristol, Virginia - now known as the "Birthplace of Country Music", as well as Historic Abingdon, Virginia - gateway to "America's First Western Frontier".
As a first in North America, the "Legendary Cherokee Bigfoot Adventure" is hosted at Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium in Kingsport, Tennessee and this tour is an afternoon hiking adventure set to the beat of Native American flute and drum music, sharing over five-hundred years of Cherokee folklore history and legend. In addition, guests will discover nearly twenty years of unique and startling Bigfoot research findings from exclusive studies performed locally in the mountains of Southern Appalachia.
