Applied Innovations Uses Nutanix to Power Scalable Cloud Hosting Solutions for Customers
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) February 25, 2016 -- Applied Innovations, the leading provider of managed cloud hosting, has announced it is using Nutanix’s software-driven Xtreme Computing Platform (XCP) to deliver a managed private cloud platform that’s more efficient and better serves its customers than legacy SAN platforms.
Nutanix XCP used by Applied Innovations dramatically eliminates storage complexity and Nutanix’s hyperconverged infrastructure natively integrates compute and storage into scale-out clusters that are easier to manage than traditional architectures.
“Nutanix’s solutions help IT organizations run more efficiently and offer new solutions to their customers,” said Chris Wakely, Senior Director of Service Provider Sales, Nutanix. “For today’s service providers, adopting cloud and web-scale principles in their data centers is crucial. By using Nutanix XCP, Applied Innovations’ customers can benefit from management and cost efficiencies spanning storage, compute and virtualization.”
From a product standpoint, Nutanix allows Applied Innovations to design a private cloud environment that has the same scale-out capacity as large-scale public cloud providers. Because the cost of additional capacity remains constant and predictable, Applied Innovations can provide enterprises cloud services economically at any scale, while still ensuring organizations have the security and reliability of a private cloud.
Nutanix also offers operational and performance benefits by converging different technologies into one platform where operations are managed through software – radically simplifying physical infrastructure and data center operations.
Simplifying operations using Nutanix can allow for a cost savings of 70 to 80 percent in ongoing management and support costs within just a few months, according to independent analysis.1 Nutanix’s smart analytics and deep infrastructure and VM-level insight also makes it easier for Applied Innovations to quickly troubleshoot issues and maintain its zero-downtime SLA.
Nutanix eliminates architectural choke points that would be found in traditional approaches. It also allows Applied Innovations to adapt to changes in the industry more aggressively by updating software and adding features without having to swap out components. This means a service provider like Applied Innovations can use Nutanix to boost performance through a software update or add a service like file sharing or Disaster Recovery (DR) regardless of the type of hardware on which it’s running.

Nutanix’s technology agnostic approach means that Applied Innovations can build out private clouds for customers extremely fast. Customers can start using the service they subscribed to after just a few hours or days, instead of the 2 to 3 month timespan common for other private cloud providers.
From an infrastructure perspective, Nutanix’s clustering can also reduce a service provider’s power, space and cooling requirements by 50 to 70 per cent for both servers and storage, resulting in significant operational savings.2
“Nutanix has a massive impact that our customers see immediately, but it has also simplified management work for our team,” says Wayne Lansdowne, Chief Systems Architect. "The technology helps us reduce the time we spend managing and administering hardware, allowing us to focus on our clients and building value for them. We’re pleased to work so closely with Nutanix, and we will continue to seek out partners and technologies that keep us on the cutting edge in our industry.”
