Apply Now! Bon Appétech Announces Open Applications for 100 Food Startups to Participate in a Global Expo & Pitch Competition April 2015 in San Francisco
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 05, 2014 -- Bon Appétech announced today that it is now accepting applications for food companies to participate in its Global Startup Expo & Pitch Competition. This is an opportunity for FoodTech, AgTech, and Food & Beverage startups to launch their companies, showcase their products, connect with industry stakeholders, and gain visibility with notable investors, global brands, and the press. For attendees, the Bon Appétech Expo & Pitch Competition offers direct access into the world of food innovation, with the opportunity to meet leading entrepreneurs, experiment with the latest FoodTech and AgTech products, and taste newly launched Food & Beverage products.
Previously, Bon Appétech announced the launch of the “Good Food Innovation Movement,” with its premiere global food technology conference taking place in San Francisco April 2015. At the core of the Good Food Innovation Movement is an emphasis on empowering the food community to ensure that innovation is used to improve the food system and increase access to healthy, nutritious, and sustainable food.
The Startup Expo & Pitch Competition furthers Bon Appétech’s mission to empower good food innovation by providing a global platform for food startups to showcase products to a highly engaged and influential community of 1,500+ food innovators, 100+ industry thought leaders and speakers, and 100+ startup exhibitors and global brands. The Startup Expo & Pitch Competition will take place concurrently with the conference, April 11-12, 2015 at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, CA.
“Our mission is to empower Good Food Innovation and we are deeply passionate about nourishing entrepreneurs and helping them succeed.” says Matthew Wise, CEO & Cofounder of Bon Appétech. “We envision the Startup Expo & Pitch Competition as a pivotal launching point for food companies to bring new products to market. Much like the tech community anticipates product launches at flagship events like WebSummit, Techcrunch Disrupt and SXSW, Bon Appétech will be a leading platform to help food companies launch new AgTech, FoodTech, and Food & Beverage products.”
The cost to reserve a startup exhibitor table is $1,300, which includes two all-access conference passes. Participating startup exhibitors will receive a demo table to showcase their products and will have a chance to connect with 1,500+ attendees and food innovators, including representatives from global brands, investors, members of the press and influential stakeholders in the food community. A select number of startups will be chosen as finalists to compete in the Bon Appétech Pitch Competition.
The Bon Appétech selection committee will review startup exhibitor applications, with decisions made for qualifying startups on a rolling basis. Preference will be given to startups that have raised less than $1M in funding, have less than $1M in revenue, and are less than 3 years old. Due to high demand and a limited number of spots, startups should submit their applications early. The deadline for submitting exhibitor applications is January 31, 2015.
From the pool of 100 startup exhibitors, the Bon Appétech judging committee will select 7 FoodTech Startups (including AgTech, software and hardware) and 7 Food & Beverage Startups as finalists to participate in the Pitch Competition on Sunday, April 12. A panel of esteemed judges from the Venture Capital, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Restaurant, and Technology Industries will evaluate each startup in the Pitch Competition. Pitch competition winners will have access to prizes, awards and strategic introductions to investors, media and global brands.
There is also an opportunity for a select number of brands and larger food and technology companies to reserve vendor exhibitor tables for $3,000. However, the number of vendor tables is limited to ensure space for participating food startups. Interested food startups, brands, and vendors can apply online to reserve their exhibitor tables:
