AppZero Joins Microsoft Enterprise Cloud Alliance
Andover, Mass., August 27, 2015 (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- Cloud and datacenter migration innovator AppZero has joined the Microsoft Enterprise Cloud Alliance Program. AppZero is a fast, flexible way to move Windows Server applications from any source machine – physical or virtual – to any destination server, in any cloud or datacenter, using its patented container technology. AppZero’s container is also called a Virtual Application Appliance (VAA). To facilitate Microsoft Azure onboarding, AppZero has two purpose-built offerings: AppZero SP for Azure, a SaaS portal, https://azure.appzero.com/, and an Azure Certified app in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. The first five migrations on AppZero SP for Azure can be done at no cost.
As part of the Microsoft Enterprise Cloud Alliance program, AppZero will provide application migration tools that enable users to modernize [upgrade] their operating system and move to the cloud in one step; this is important to consider now that Windows Server 2003 has reached the end of extended support.
According to AppZero CEO Greg O’Connor, “AppZero has proven success in migrating applications to the cloud, thereby accelerating cloud adoption. We're pleased that Microsoft has recognized this success by inviting us to join the Enterprise Cloud Alliance.”
“As organizations move workloads to the cloud, they may not want to bring old infrastructure with them,” said Chris Lwanga, Principal PM Manager, Enterprise Cloud, Microsoft. “We are excited that AppZero can help customers onboard applications onto Azure in a seamless way.”
