APT Index: May In-store Retail Sales Increased [+0.4%], with a Strong Mother’s Day Weekend [+1.0%] and a Weaker Memorial Day Weekend [-0.7%]
WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) June 11, 2015 -- Applied Predictive Technologies (APT), recently named a Cool Vendor by Gartner, announced today that the APT Index of in-store retail sales increased [+0.4%] nationwide in May 2015, compared to May of last year. APT Index retail sales were up [+1.0%] on Mother’s Day Weekend* and down [-0.7%] on Memorial Day Weekend**.
“It’s encouraging to see May retail sales picking up after a [-1.0%] decrease in April,” said Patrick O’Reilly, APT President & COO. “Though we saw an overall increase, Memorial Day sales were underwhelming this year due to a decrease in the number of transactions occurring on that weekend.”

As a result, we believe the APT Index provides the most definitive, accurate, and geographically-targeted analysis of retail and restaurant sales available.
