Aptara’s Mobile Apps for Cisco and Elsevier Take First and Second Place in the 2014 SIPAwards
Falls Church, VA (PRWEB) July 30, 2014 -- Aptara was awarded first and second place in the 2014 SIPAward “Best Use of Mobile” category for the mobile applications it created for Cisco and Elsevier. SIPAwards are issued annually by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA). Announced at their annual conference in Washington, DC, the 2014 awards recognized Aptara for creating sophisticated, brand oriented, on-the-go digital experiences for small screens.
Aptara’s “Best Use of Mobile” entries highlight two recent customer success stories, Elsevier and Cisco:
First Place - Elsevier
Producing 675 highly interactive eBooks in 7 months for Elsevier’s new Student Consult and Expert Consult portals. The eTextbooks include rich media, social and community features, on- and offline search capability, and real-time content syncing across iPads, iPhones, PCs, and Macs. With authoritative, world-class content from Elsevier and mobile interactivity from Aptara, the titles are among the most engaging and efficient learning tools available to students and medical professionals today.
Second Place - Cisco
Cisco’s cost saving migration from print to mobile to cut costs and meet customers’ need for convenient on-demand access. Aptara designed and built a content delivery system and eReader platform for hosting, securing, distributing, and viewing Cisco training materials worldwide. In addition to saving Cisco hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in printing, shipping, and labor costs, and boosting customer engagement with on-the-go access, their training content can be easily repurposed for new digital products and revenues.
“What an incredible honor to be recognized for two high profile client projects at this year’s SIPAwards,” said Bill Penders, President of Aptara, “These awards demonstrate Aptara’s focus on helping our customers leverage the full revenue potential of their content.”
According to Luis Hernandez, VP of SIIA's SIPA division, "Winning a 2014 SIPAward is an especially impressive achievement given that there were 187 entries, and nearly 20 judges—all esteemed industry veterans—taking part this year." Hernandez added that "the range of subjects of the awards reflects the incredible diversity of topics covered by SIPA members."
