Aqua Quest International Salvages Valuable Sunken Cargo From Shipwreck Near Cape Fear
Tarpon Springs, Florida (PRWEB) September 16, 2014 -- AQUA QUEST INTERNATIONAL is salvaging the cargo of a 1924 shipwreck off of Cape Fear, North Carolina. The Cape Fear wreck rests on the ocean floor in approximately 120 feet of water and holds a very large and valuable cargo of extremely high grade copper ore laced with gold, silver and other precious metals according to an assay test performed on samples recovered from the wreck. The cargo is estimated to be worth several million dollars.
The field team working on the RV Aqua Quest successfully recovered the first load of the high grade copper ore from the ocean floor with the aid of their custom built one ton steel air lift system fondly known by the crew as the "Ore-asaurus". The massive air lift system was designed and built by the Aqua Quest team specifically for this project.
