In this session Gordon Rapkin will co-present with John Hankerson, Vice President of Human Resources, American Seafoods Group. The presentation will cover how American Seafoods, one of the world’s leading vertically integrated seafood companies, employing 800-1200 contract workers each year to catch and process seafood, was able to automate the company’s business processes and create digital access to 25 years of HR documents. Due to the nature of their business, American Seafoods’ employees need to fill out a large number of forms, waivers and contracts annually. As a result, the HR department spends weeks administering paper documents, and has to hire outside help to get it all done. Moreover, HR is required to save these paper documents for seven to 10 years, which results in storage fees. Realizing the amount of time and money being lost, American Seafoods turned to Archive Systems for help with their document management. By implementing Archive Systems’ FIleBRIDGE for HR document management platform, American Seafoods was able to determine what forms they had and how they needed to be managed. The technology enabled HR to convert a time-consuming manual effort into a nearly effortless automated process. In the end American Seafoods went from having a paper-based HR department to nearly paper-free.
