Aria 3B Orthopaedic Institute Adds Three Physicians to Expand Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Offerings

McGrath, MD, sports medicine physician, Douglas C. Sutton, MD, director of spine surgery, and Daniel E. Bronsnick, MD, shoulder surgeon. These specialists bring additional areas of expertise to the orthopaedic practice, a testament to Aria’s dedication to offering high-quality, personal patient care in Philadelphia and the surrounding communities.

After recently completing a fellowship in sports medicine at the Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro, North Carolina, Todd M. McGrath, MD, has joined the Aria 3B Orthopaedic Institute as a non-operative sports medicine physician. Dr. McGrath has more than 14 years of experience in the field, and brings with him expansive knowledge in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasounds and invasive ultrasound techniques such as tenotomy, including the Tenex procedure which removes tendon pain with ultrasonic energy. In addition to his skill with ultrasounds, Dr. McGrath has extensive experience in concussion management, exercise stress, asthma testing and gait analysis for orthotic production. Prior to his sports medicine fellowship, Dr. McGrath served as an emergency physician at the Hahnemann University Hospital and Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. McGrath also has served as an attending physician at the Mercy Fitzgerald Medicine Center and Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia, and at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Texas Tech University.

Board certified through the American Board of Orthopaedics, Douglas C. Sutton, MD, has more than two decades of surgical experience and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of adult and adolescent spinal disorders. Fellowship trained in adult spine surgery, Dr. Sutton treats congenital, developmental and post-traumatic conditions of the spine. His extensive surgical practice includes decompression procedures of the spine, micro/minimally invasive procedures, anterior and posterior fusion techniques, motion preservation technology and spinal instrumentation. Prior to joining the Aria 3B Orthopaedic Institute as the director of spine surgery, Dr. Sutton served as an orthopaedic surgeon at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. Dr. Sutton graduated from Temple University with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. He completed his general surgery internship at Pennsylvania Hospital and his orthopaedic residency through the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Department of Orthopaedics, where he also completed his fellowship.
Shoulder surgeon Daniel E. Bronsnick, MD, is board certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and was fellowship trained in shoulder and elbow surgery at Brown University. Prior to joining the Aria 3B Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Bronsnick was a staff surgeon at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, Miriam Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital and served as Chief Resident for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Bronsnick graduated from Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in quantitative economics, attended Harvard University’s Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program and received his medical degree from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University.
