Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- The Tampa-St. Petersburg Pelican Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) is proud to announce the launch of http://www.AFCEATampa.org. The user-friendly site provides information about special events, luncheons, community involvement, corporate sponsors, small business development and more, all which are coordinated by the organization.
AFCEA’s Pelican Chapter has a long-standing tradition of supporting the advancement of the excellence in technology, professionalism and education as they relate to the vital areas of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR), electronics, audiovisual and information systems. The chapter is comprised of personnel from department of defense, federal, state and local government, academic communities and businesses which do work for federal government agencies.
“We wanted a progressive, easy to navigate, mobile-device friendly website designed to assist our organization with better serving our members and their interests,” said Web Coordinator, Jeff Young.
In addition to maintaining an updated and informative website, the AFCEA Pelican Chapter utilizes social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to engage with members and supporters. “The nature of our organization is to serve others,” stated Young. “Our new site also allows AFCEA members and supporters to easily register for meetings, stay updated on our events, and make online donations to the local charities we support.”
