Armed Security Hired for Urban Fresh Cosmetics Grand Opening in Albuquerque on February 5th to Protect Ingredients on Display
Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- Showing off the perfect gift for someone you love requires armed guards. Private security company International Protective Service has been contracted for the Urban Fresh Cosmetics grand opening event on Thursday, February 5 from 4:30 to 7 PM, at 123 Broadway Blvd. SE. It will include a ribbon cutting by Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce at 4:30 PM. Guests must register at UrbanFreshCosmetics.com and pass a security screening.
Local celebrity small business owners Keith & André West-Harrison are showing off the rare and valuable ingredients in their new “Heaven on Earth” bath bomb that sells for $397 each or as a 4-pack for $1,277. A bath bomb is a hard-packed mixture of ingredients which effervesces when wet and add essential oils, skin nurturing oils and color to bathwater.
After meeting with Marcus Lemonis of the CNBC show The Profit at the Inc. 5000 conference the guys spent a weekend binge watching the past episodes.
“We had never watched the show or knew much about Marcus, but hearing him speak and talking with him we quickly realized he is our kind of people,” Keith said, “It’s like he’s family. We believe in all the same principles and values around running a business.”
Urban Fresh Cosmetics features fresh, locally handmade bath goods with urban farm grown ingredients made by their family, not a corporate chain. The message of Urban Fresh is to look beyond being green which includes looking at the state of our oceans. The oceans are currently our largest landfill with over 3.5 million tons of trash.
“Sorry to tell people, but most of your beauty products are trash. The plastics end up as garbage floating around the oceans and killing our valuable ocean creatures. We are using very little packaging and what we do use is compostable and biodegradable,” said André, “It is a revolutionary way to sell products.”
The "Heaven on Earth" bath bomb ingredients are stored in a local bank vault until production day. They include:
- Gold $ – $1,295/oz
- Sandalwood Essential Oil (Indian) – $429/oz
- Champaca Essential Oil – $2,256/oz subtropical tree with gorgeous & deeply fragrant flowers.
- Rose Essential Oil (Bulgarian) – $700/oz Every drop of rose essential oil is 30 roses.
For almost 25 years they have been working toward being Urban Fresh. It has been a journey from esthetics school to owning a hotel, spa and coffeehouse in New Orleans until Katrina and finally an urban farm in Albuquerque. It’s a family affair that includes days spent drying herbs, packing bath bomb molds and teaching classes to happy customers.
Registration for the grand opening is available on the website or by visiting their Facebook page.
