Effective branding is so important in the modern world because there is a hot competition between different companies; if a customer does not choose a particular brand, then they will go elsewhere to receive a better service or higher quality product. Sprout Social recently conducted a study of 1000 consumers into the perception that brands give on social media. The study found that nearly three-fourths of consumers said they wanted a brand to be funnier on social media and overall, 86% consumers believe it was more important for a brand, to be honest, 83% friendly and 78% helpful. Conversely, 88% of customers said that they get annoyed when a company uses social media to mock people.
The study also revealed that social media users regard different platforms as more or less appropriate for a brand to use; Facebook remained the most popular social media platform for all age demographics.
ARMI Inc concludes from the study, merely having a presence on social media is not enough for a brand; how a brand interacts with their followers is crucial to whether a consumer would consider buying from them. ARMI Inc has been examining the findings from this study and make sure they adhere to the appropriate social media behaviours outlined by the Sprout Social research.
