Arthur J. Halleran Jr., is co-founder of CampInteractive
Miami, Florida (PRWEB) January 19, 2015 -- CampInteractive was co-founded by Arthur J. Halleran, Jr., in 2000. Arthur J. Halleran, Jr. is a successful real estate investor with more than forty years of experience, having founded First Winthrop Corporation, which reached paramount success in 1994, when it became one of the largest real estate firms in the nation.
After selling First Winthrop Corporation to a major New York financier, Arthur J. Halleran, Jr. founded and is Chairman of another successful venture, QueensFort Capital Corporation - a Merchant Bank, which is significantly involved in international financing activities, such as, attracting foreign capital to invest in United States-based real estate projects. QueensFort Capital Corporation is also an Investment Bank that raises funds for corporations and governments by structuring debt offerings, as well as, purchasing large blocks of securities in initial underwritings. Mr. Halleran’s QueensFort Capital is headquartered in Miami, Florida.
CampInteractive is a non-profit organization determined to introduce the creative power of technology and the inspiration of the outdoors to young people in the underserved neighborhoods of America, with the hope of providing youths with computing skills, leadership ability and professionalism. Arthur J. Halleran, Jr. was Chairman of the Board for CampInteractive from 2000 to 2011.
By focusing on the advent of new technologies and Mother Nature as educational tools, CampInteractive excels at providing children and adolescents with the technological skills required to be both competitive and successful in the 21st century business world, while creating a sense of community, where teamwork and self-confidence can flourish – this is the vision that Arthur J. Halleran, Jr. created for CampInteractive.
Arthur J. Halleran, Jr. started the operations of CampInteractive in 2001, with Jake Blair, with the goal of empowering and inspiring inner-city youths to thrive, by passing on his past and current real world experience and by creating an environment of like-minded individuals that support the emotional and educational advancement of its members. The ever-expanding digital divide between children raised in upper class families, versus the impoverished, was the impetus that brought CampInteractive to existence. Mr. Halleran’s assessment was correct, as evidenced by the very first group of inner city kids to benefit from CampInteractive’s initiative. Twenty-eight kids were selected for a weekend excursion that would venture out to the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. Half of the children had never been outside of New York City or personally interacted with a lap top computer. The trip was a major success.
In its efforts, CampInteractive has received the support of major charitable organizations, such as the Laureus Foundation USA, which raises funds for community projects that use sports and the outdoors as a tool for social change. Notably, Edwin Moses, a world record setter and gold medal Olympian in track and field, was Chairman of the Board of the Laureus Foundatation USA and was incredibly financially supportive of CampInteractive. As of 2014, thousands of underserved New York City high school students have benefited from CampInteractive’s programs.
In 2011, Arthur J. Halleran, Jr. assumed the role of Chairman Emeritus of CampInteractive.
